Pre-Workout Drinks and How they Can Improve your Workout

Pre-workout drinks are very popular supplements that help athletes and bodybuilders get more out of their workout and obtain results faster. In this article we will describe several types of pre-workout drinks that serious people use to supercharge their muscle building results.

Caffeine
Caffeine is an ingredient that is used in most pre-workout supplements and its goal is simple: to pump your workout and give you energy. For using this you may just drink Coffee or the better alternative, Green tea. Green tea gives you more energy for your workout and allows you to reach higher intensity levels.

Caffeine

It should be taken 1 hour before the workout, as it reaches the maximum level in the blood after 1 hour.

Green Tea
I’ve decided to put green tea in a different category even though it is mainly used for its energizing abilities. The reason for doing that, is because green tea is generally very healthy and have many other health benefits for fat burning and protection against several diseases. It is very recommended to drink whether you actually work out or just look to become leaner and healthier.

Creatine
Creatine is another ingredient that is used in many supplements to increase strength. Creatine is used in the body to create energy for short-term use, and taking just 5g-10g before the exercise can help you lift more and workout with higher intensity.

Creatine should be taken in cycles: after each month you take creatine, take one month pause. Make sure not to take too large doses (over 20g) as it can be harmful for the body.

L-Carnitine
L-Carnitine is another supplement that is good for fat burning. It takes an active part in transforming fatty acids into energy, and can help your body burn more your fat in your exercises. It is taken 1 hour before workout on an empty stomach.

L-Carnitine makes aerobics much more effective and even easier to do, as it regulates acids in your muscles.

Protein Shakes
Even though they are usually not included in pre-workout shakes, protein shakes can be quite effective when consumed 1 hour before the workout, as they give your muscles protein throughout the workout as well and help you begin the recovery even while the exercise itself.

It is recommended to drink protein shakes with zero lactose (like IsoPure Zero Carb) before the workouts to make sure that you can execute your exercise routine with maximum performance.
